im busy making my game, and i went to see if there were some fresh topics to read, butmost i see are people asking for a team, or the opposite. And i was thinking wth all these teams, will there be a chance for the people that work alone? (its my first JAM,so i dont got any experience with how teams perform)

Jam Host(+1)

Teams add complexity and the need of cooperation, from my past jam experiences, I would say that most of the time,I couldn't even tell if I was playing a game that was made by 1 person, or a group effort. Summarizing, it isn't always bigger team = better game

This is my third jam and I noticed solo devs have as much of a chance of winning as team devs! Going solo you would have to adjust your scope and make a smaller game compared to some big teams who can split their roles, but that doesn't mean you can't make something fun and well polished. I guess it depends on preference too, since some people prefer to work in teams while others want to make games by their own.

also, the more people on a team the more people who need to agree on something, meaning that more time is spent on discussing. This also means it takes longer to decide which features to cut once it turns out that the game idea was over scoped (which always happens), meaning more time wasted during a time that there is NO time to waste.

It can also create bottlenecks, if someone ran against a wall while implementing a core feature, or similar. Adding to wasted time.

Honestly with a jam this big, it's anyone's game.
