Hello! Here are the steps to extract the game:

When you download the zip folder, you should be able to find it in whatever folder you chose (this is usually the 'downloads' folder by default.)
Right click on the folder and choose 'extract all'.
Select the folder you want the game to extract to and then click 'extract'.
You should now be able to find the game folder wherever you extracted it to. Go into the folder and double click on the .exe file.

If that doesn't work, installing the game via the itch.io app might help. you can find instructions for installing games in the app here: https://itch.io/docs/itch/using/downloading.html

see, but it doesn’t even make it to the folder because i hit the download button and the minute it “downloads” it deletes itself out of my files

Hm, that's really strange! I'm not sure what's happening, but I'd suggest trying to install the game via the Itch app and see what happens then.
