I had a few games the other day and I enjoyed it even though I'm not that good at the keyboard. For twin stick shooters I prefer dual stick controller or an one handed controller + mouse.
It could use a scoring mechanism where you earn more points if you destroy the enemies quickly or in quick succession to not end up with the same score every time you reach the boss and be rewarded for playing well.
