To answer your other question, you can use release announcements and devlogs, people look them up. And you can have genuine interactions with other people. Talk to them about their games, and they'll check out yours in turn. Seriously, people do that. In fact people will find your games anyway if you have good tags and short descriptions, both from Itch and via search engines. You are promoting your games outside Itch too, right?
