I will try to make the guide more detailed in the full version of the game.
The parts have their own temperature limit. The peat increased the efficiency of the boiler too much and it broke down due to overheating. You should have reduced the power of the boilers to avoid this.

Ok so I don't get overheating. External heat increases with the same rate as individual part heat when you have 1 "room" or whatever unlocked. But when I upgrade the plant to get more boilers and turbines they can't even reach boiling temperatures because external heat reaches 175 degrees before that can happen. I tried upgrading cooling as well but that didn't do anything afaik. This also plays into turing a profit as you can't upgrade the plant and buying a new one costs too much money. either I don't understand something or something is wrong.
Also, I got the research "increase budget by 50k marks" or whatever but that didnt seem to do anything?
It seems like a cool game but it is way too confusing to understand what is going on.
