Hi! Yes, this is an issue with the itch.io link protection. I've reported it to them, but sadly I'm not sure they can fix it.
Meanwhile, you can still download the offline version - open it with any browser and it should work as it's coded in standard JS. (use "private mode" as it'll quickly fill up your history on some browsers)
