So the game runs fine for me. I think your anti-virus may have deleted something important as a false positive. Please check inside the folder to see if everything in this picture is included. If not, your anti-virus deleted something important.

Hi.  It looks almost the same.  Where you have data.dts file, mine is listed as a dts audio file (vlc).  Also I have a separate error log which appeared after the game failed to work.  There doesn't seem to be a function to attach a file to this message or I would send it to you.

Here is a screen shot of the error log.

Please uninstall VLC and reinstall Falnarion Tactics.

Your program (VLC) changed the game from a working file to a broken audio file. The data.dts is the entire game's core function put into a database and your program turned it all into audio.  Please do that and tell me what happens.

Hi.  I have done as you asked - uninstalled VLC and Falnarion Tactics, and then reinstalled Falnarion Tactics.  Although the Data.dts file remains unchanged, I still have the same problem.  I am using an old PC, running Windows 7.  Could this be the problem?  I have included a screen shot of my system.

it shouldn't matter much but try running the program as an admin. You can also edit the .ini file in a notepad and render the game as software or hardware. You can also tinker a bit in the settings. Also do you have an antivirus and if yes which one.

Finally got it to work.  I tried everything you suggested - I reinstalled with my antivirus turned off (Mcafee), I ran it as an administrator - and was getting nowhere.  But once I set it to render as software, the game worked.  Thank you very much for your help and patience.  I am looking forward to playing the game - I used to love playing Fire Emblem in the past.

Just one further question, once you are back at base, and saved the game, how do I quit back to desktop?

Glad you got it to work! You can press F4 to go to windowed mode and then hit the x button in the window to close the application. F4 again to full screen if you like.
