It really is an interesting idea to make a more interactive sims game where you perform self-care by interacting with certain objects. Unfortunately, there are some problems with the interactions, mainly me not knowing what to interact with to not only get my health up but my (Sanity?) meter up too. I try the obvious food, exercise, rest but nothing seemed to work. If there was any indication of what a person would need to initiate self-care, then it would be great.

I also experience the problem with the sounds not appearing when you interact with things. The TV interact is fine, but the others don't seem to display until after I die.

Developer

Thanks for playing the game.
Sorry about the bugs. This game was made in less than 50 hours.
For understanding the tasks and how it works, Imagine yourself in that player's position. Now think what should you do in the morning.
The tasks are dynamic and give your points as per the amount you have done the task and at what time of the day you performed it.
Maybe a more intuitive UI could do that trick.
Hope you enjoyed the game.

Interesting concept. I like the idea of a game made from being locked in quarantine. Some bugs that came up for me is that the music stopped playing after a while and wouldn't come back and that some times I either would be able to stop doing a task or start a new one. One time the animation for one of the tasks continued even as I left the room and started new tasks. Also, the time of tasks was a little confusing to me. The way you have, where you complete them for as long as you seem odds, and it makes more sense to me to have tasks have a set time to complete.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing. Sorry about the bugs. This game was made in less than 50 hours. Every task has a dynamic scoring system as per time.

Example if you watch TV in morning it will not gain you much but when you watch it in evening you'll gain way more.
Also each task has a cooldown, meaning if you had completed one task at 8:50 at night than if there's a cooldown for that task for 1 hours you won't be able to redo the task till 9:50.
Some tasks have a ending time meaning you can work on something for just 1 hour and then task will stop but for a few we removed that.
So if you want to watch TV the whole day you can but then it will lose you physical health greatly.
Hope you enjoyed playing the game.

Nice game! The graphics are great and the game accurately depicts quarantine this year xD.

The game was a little confusing for me at first as the a lot of the things I did decreased my points on health and sanity. When eating/ exercising, I suppose my health is meant to rise but it didn't? When watching tv or reading a book it didn't really increase the sanity points the first few times but by the end it somehow started to rise.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game . Welcome to 2020! It just means you can't do anything to stop it xD Hope you survive it too! :D

Developer

Thanks for playing.
Yes the game is suppose to depict the entire 2020.
The goal is to keep doing tasks and survive.
The scoring system works as a normal human will.
Example if you watch TV in morning it will not gain you much but when you watch it in evening you'll gain way more.
Every task has a dynamic scoring system as per time.
Hope you enjoyed the game.

Ohh no wonder it seemed a little off. Thanks for explaining it :D

Honestly I don't mind watching tv in the mornings and in the evenings both hahaha :)

I guess if I explore more I'll get the hang of it.

Developer

Yes
I do hope you explore more.
Maybe this game needs a tutorial scene or maybe a more intuitive UI.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you very much for playing our game . We will be working on the bugs and developing it further . Your feedback means a lot to us .

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing.
Sorry about that. The game is still in development.
We wanted to create a dynamic 2D light system but looks like it is still buggy.
Thanks for letting us know.
Hope you enjoyed the game.

Great concept and nice game. Aptly summarizing the entire 2020 for everyone

Developer

Thanks for playing.

I like the concept and the graphics are nice but I had a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to play/win. It seemed like just about everything decreased my health/sanity, even eating and doing laundry! For some reason polishing trophies is always good though? I did manage to make it to 24:00 but I still didn't win. Hoping you are able to patch it so that things increase properly, or if there is an order/timing to what to do and when make it more apparent to the player what they should be doing.

Developer

Thanks for playing.
The game goal is to survive. We wanted to add days mechanics to the game where task will get more difficult but we joined very late.
Inorder to win you have to survive. That's 2020 for you.
Imagine yourself in place of the player. Then imagine what task will help you gain what points and what's the best time to do it.
Example
Reading Book Is always good
Watching TV is morning is bad so it will greatly decrease you both point but wathcing Tv in evening will gain you insanity points.

The entire game play is based on how you as a person will spend days in your own house.

Submitted(+1)

Ahh ok, that makes sense. In that case I think adding some text like "I'd be better off doing this earlier/later in the day" when you do something at an incorrect time would help a lot!

Developer

There is no incorrect time.
And if we add it then the game will be more predictable.
We wanted player to think about it and make his own decisions.

I really like the idea behind this and it fits the theme really well! Unfortunately, it's pretty buggy (particularly the sound effects and animation would bug out on me). Doing tasks didn't change the sanity or health levels at all and character movement is WAY too slow. With a bit of debugging, I think this could be a fun game!

Developer

Thanks for playing.
Yes, we understand this game is buggy. Honestly this game was made in less than 50 hours.
Everything is made from scratch.
The team plans to work on the game and debug and add more difficulty to the game.

The tasks will either game you or lose you point.
Example - Watching TV will gain you Insanity point but will decrease you physical health.

Those point also depend on what time of the day you are doing your task.
If watching TV in morning it will gain you less points than watching TV in evening after 6.

It didn't seem like there was any way to increase or reduce the loss of sanity and/or health? I would think exercise, sleeping , reading books would help with health and/or sanity, But every thing seemed to drain both. There was no way to rest that I could find...maybe I missed it?  Or is the entire point that 2020 is killing us all and there's nothing we can do to prevent it? LOL!

Developer(+1)

You figured out 2020.
Yes not the usual tasks will help you gain massive health/insanity points.
It's the new things you try.
Do a few tasks twice and you'll see that it helps you boost points.

kudos guys good work

This game is cool and I like the concept. The animations look very good. Too bad I can't beat it lol.

Developer(+1)

Haha.
Thanks for playing.
Your goal in the game is to survive as long as possible.
There's no winning just surviving in this game.

Great game, I like the out of the box thinking with the idea!

We are really happy that you liked the concept and the game itself.
Thanks for playing.
