Nice idea, and good writing, the dialogues are really convincing. And the characters are really well done! As for the golfing mechanic, a bit of UI to see where you are aiming would help a lot, and making the ball disappear when you hit the hole would make the player feel the success more. Also, I didnt have any sound in the game?
