EDIT:

alright i don't know if it's because it's not a linux port but I managed to run it and some backgrounds are missing, no sound and there are some errors i told renpy to ignore.  something feels wrong as there are more images on the screenshots page than in game.

the ending was kind of abrupt so it was interesting that i had to ponder again about the significance of all the parts. i really like the insider perspective on academics and philosophy studies

EDIT2:

Just had to say this: i don't know if you're aware but you're supposed to make the game during the jam but also that it'd be related to a theme. while i can find some connection it is too slim to be the main focus i'd say, and i suspect is coincidental. if it's just posting a half-baked import to renpy of a VN you made i'm a bit disappointed; i mean yeah it is philosophy related but at least adapt to the theme.

Thank you for your attention. I decided to join the two Jams (this one and the Games Jobs Live one themed "seize the day"), with the reason that the story, if not exactly around the themes, at least is tangent to these topics.

If you noticed the prologue title, it is 'Can atoms think?', since the game is going to discuss the relationship between thinking and existence. In the following chapters, Timothy, the physicist, is going to expand this topic with the main character, basically his stand is "if a particle has free will, you have free will"; there should've been another a datable character called Judith, and the main plot about her would be what she wanted to do is not she actually does, and because of her helpless reality, her side is like "lost in free will".

The previous prototype of this game which you've seen was intended to show the gameplay and to draw publishers attention in a limited time, therefore we had to extract the brief story and keep it short as 10 min game experience. I took this chance of jam to show more contents of the story, which was in form of a novel, and I changed it into a script that is more suitable for a visual novel game.

It is yet a rough prototype and I didn't managed to add all the plots we had into the game in this short term. It is far away from polished, there're assets missing and bugs - Judith even failed to appear. What is worse, due to the other jam is still in rating I cannot upload new builds.

But is it OK if I get in touch with you once we have a proper build? We are looking forward to your feedback, especially when you are interested in philosophy.

putting my feelings about this attitude aside -- all i can tell you is that my first impression of this is already pretty terrible. i don't like to discourage people and i might be wrong but unless this is just a hobby project i suggest you to give up. i don't have any better feedback unfortunately and i'm not interested to hear more. best of luck
