I love the style of it, the controls really do make it hard to enjoy though. As backwardspy commented, I'd love to have a go at a version with the controls refined. Well done getting so much done in 9 days!

Thank you :)

fun fact :  right now I am working on a 2d platformer physics engine and I am thinking to make a better version of this game with way better controls and better graphics.

if I do make a better version of this game, I have to improve the controls a lot, first thing that I will do is to p5.js because the processing doesn't allow multi key input, at first it doesn't feel that big of a problem but I realized that it is a big problem,  and the other more important thing is to...teak the controls until it felt good.  :)

and if I do make a it I will definitely improve the graphics because when I envisioned this game I had a long list a things to make like a lights coming from window effect in the background and 2d animated gears to make it more mechanical and way better character animation, I wanted it to look a like a pencil test of 2d cartoon.

Difficult controls aside I really like how this game looks and the idea is pretty cool. Nice work on the submission! I’d like to see a version of this with tighter platforming controls for sure. :)

Thanks :)

graphics and animation could be improved, i was planing to add a layer of hand animated gears(like those in the great mouse detective) but animation especially hand drawn animation takes a lot of time to create maybe with more time it could look much better, the side wall was actually going to have window with lights coming it, at the end i add a perspective effect which make it a bit 3d. and the character animation can be improved in many ways like with much better cropping.

i was actually learning box2d while making this game, also i didn't know the best way to make plat former controls. I'll try to make them better :)

I realized that for the developer its hard to fin-tune the controls because he had played it so many time that he get habitual to those controls so it's hard to know how bad controls really are.

Absolutely true - after you’ve been playtesting your game for a while you become an expert at it! Great job again.

I like where this was going with the aesthetics, but the wonky physics make the controls almost unusable. I did manage to muscle through to the top of the clocktower and aside from the wonky physics, this was a pretty neat little demo. Maybe try some basic tile based collisions instead of box2d next time.

Developer

i tried making my own engine at first but i was unable to make collision work correctly so i used box2d but i was quite new to box2d so i wasn't able to make controls better, I will try to make my own engine next time.

i think aesthetic could be better i didn't have time to make animation look better because of poor planning but it could be improved. :)

This seems like a cool concept, but why do you move so aggravatingly slow?

Developer

i know the controls are not great because i am quite new to jbox2d physics engine. if i develop this game further, first i will change the engine to something else that i understand more to make better controls.
