I'll touch on my reasons about the Hadouken last. But first, could you be more specific about the stairs? Do you mean ladders? Which ones? I agree about the dogs, they do freeze up. I have noticed the ladder in Primate stage in the Ride Armor section. I'm mixed on whether you should be able to fall through or not, because that offers a quick way up and down. Now, for the Hadouken. I get wanting to make it easier, but there's the balance of what's too easy for a move that one-shots enemies and most bosses. I largely see it as a move that needs and should be practiced, one that separates the good players from the best. I for one don't find it that difficult to execute, and same with many others, although I recognize that are many that do have problems. My biggest issue with having it as a mappable feature in controls is that it ruins the secretive nature of it being a collectible upgrade in the game. If I was playing it for the first time, I would rather not be spoiled by the menu options telling me about a Hadouken input, because that would ruin the surprise. Most MMX fans should expect to look for a special upgrade after getting 100%, but it's nice on the first playthrough to have it be unknown. My second point is that mapping it to a defined place on the controls limits the other inputs already laid in-place. For instance, the special moves, weapon select, dash, etc. I have for my dash on L1 and Special move on R2. That's just my preference, but it works for me. Finally, I feel like altering undermines the hard work and practice many people, myself included as a mostly casual player, have put in on the Hadouken and Shoryuken from the original titles. It feels like a cut to all my practice I put in to be more skilled. But, I have no resentment towards your reasons. I hope you can understand the other side of the community that prefers the traditional way. At any rate, there is a vote on the Discord, so you can put your vote there. There are not many votes in so far, but the vote is favoring to keep it as is.

Follow up question on the stairs/ladders: What about moving to the side? What movement are you trying to do? Are you turning left/right, or jumping to the side? Directional buttons shift the way you're facing, but I'm not seeing my character getting stuck. If you want to get off the ladder press the jump, if that's what you are trying to do.
