Hi! Thank you for the kind words!

To answer your question regarding open-source assets: Yes, this pack will work fine with your project!

If you include a brief ATTRIBUTION or LICENSE file stating that the paid assets remain under commercial license and are not covered by your code's open-source license, then you don't need to maintain dummy assets.

As you mentioned, compiled assets in game builds can always be extracted anyway, so having the asset files in a public repository is standard practice for open-source indies, as long as the asset license is there.

Really looking forward to sharing the Dev and Master tiers after the final refinements! Until then, feel free to share a link to your repo whenever you're ready. I'd love to see your work!

That’s great to read, thank you for the quick reply! :)

The state currently is really a prototype, I have map generation and movement, so nothing to show for yet.

The plan is to have a coworking companion app for twitch streams. Pomodoro timer, during a work phase the chat can interact with the game.

Will take some time to finish, but ofc I’ll credit you! <3

For the license itself, my plan was to use the REUSE spec 3.3, based on the example from github fsfe/reuse-example (with a REUSE.toml for asset directories) in addition to an adapted root level license file that mentions that 3rd party assets remain under their licenses, I hope that is fine with you. All code I create myself will be MIT/Expat.

Using the REUSE 3.3 spec with REUSE.toml and a root license notice sounds good to me.
Best of luck with the prototype!

Also, if you have any specific tile, prop, or character that you would like to see in this asset pack, let me know, and I'll do my best to add it.
