We are currently preparing the release of the next major plugin update, and we are also working on some new videos to showcase the new features and improvements, since the last published video does not cover everything that has been added.
To answer your question, there are already quite a few effects available, and this new update, together with the upcoming Expansion Pack, will add even more.
You can already find most of the things you would normally expect to need, such as destroying cards, blocking attacks, changing positions, flipping cards, changing control, modifying Life Points, changing stats, swapping values, and more.
With the new update, we are also adding additional options such as moving cards from the discard pile, deck, and other zones, along with many other new possibilities.
As for Trap Cards, yes. Whenever a trap can be activated, a window will appear asking whether you want to activate it or not.
At the moment, the only trap activation condition is when the opponent attacks. We are considering adding support for situations where the opponent activates a Spell or Trap Card as well, but we have not made a final decision yet.
We do not want the system to become literally a Yu-Gi-Oh! simulator. The idea is to take inspiration from certain mechanics while keeping the system flexible and original rather than making an exact copy.
In any case, I am sure you will be able to enjoy the system perfectly with everything it already offers, especially once the new update arrives in the next few days! ^^
