Why make a custom night first and not a one night demo
I'm actually a little curious because most FNAF fan games I've seen have either a one or two night demo of the game, but having a custom night first is a little too silly, it also kinda spoils of what characters are going to be in the game.
But who am I to judge it's your choice after all.

They are working out a Night 1 demo as mentioned on Twitter, likely involving Teddi and Hoppi as the main threats for the first night. Although, by how Teddi was changed from 4.2 to 5.4, they are likely changing and tweaking the dolls based on the feedback they get on them + agro mechanics.
Night 1 demo may be just a smidge different, but we'll have to wait and see since most of the folks here are bones just by looking at the last time this page got a dev log update.
Don't be fooled! This game is not dead but it is in a coma. The devs barely update AT ALL. Considering how much support they get from their subscribe star (which is VERY popular, 1069 subscribers. most of which are probably paying five dollars as the one dollar tier gives you next to nothing) it's honestly scary how little the game gets worked on. I love the art style to death and paid for the 5 dollar tier for a couple months just to realize the devs really seem to be lazy or gouging their fans for money. Anytime you mention this in the discord or comments they pull the "we have lives" even tho there making more a month from their subscribe star than most full time jobs 👀. Idk how many devs are having to split this money but either way it doesn't matter, either they should be focusing more on the game to keep people paying for their subscribe star or more devs means it should be easier to crank out updates. Devs quit being so entitled and maybe recognize you've made something people really like and you should quit smoking and gooning to design more scenes with characters you could draw with the bucket tool on paint.
the thing is however is some of the devs life’s are getting in the way of development, you can’t see it but we are still actively developing the game as we speak. I get it’s been taking a long while, but remember things can get in the way of stuff. Also it seems you don’t know how long it takes to animate things. We are not gonna half-ass or rush out stuff because people are getting impatient. You honestly don’t know how game development works since you typed this out with the soul reasoning of us being lazy or entitled. Sorry we can’t spit out updates every month for you.
You sound like you've made up your mind, but I'll just say it anyways.
The dev team is small. The programmers that work on the game, like me, are not full-time, and are literally incapable of working on the game 24/7. I'm a college student. I'd love to work on the game more than I do, but I have to make sure that I don't completely fuck up my degree. Thankfully, Malakai has been able to keep up the speed for the development even whenever I'm not capable of doing so.
On top of that, I also have to take on multiple roles for the game's development. I direct the game, I manage the game's social media, and I even do most of the sound design for the game. I do a lot more stuff behind the scenes that probably doesn't go completely appreciated.
Nobody on the team is particularly well off either, by the way, which is why the Subscribestar exists, to prevent the game from completely dying if any of us gets into a bad position in life. It's already helped us out of such positions several times, and it never goes unappreciated.
I'm not going to beg for your forgiveness or anything, since you seem like you've already made your decision, but I just wanted to at least say something about this comment, because it genuinely made me upset reading it, and I'm not afraid to admit it.
Do you happen to have any projects of your own that you're working on? Because looking at your comment, I get the impression you're just one of those people who think game developers are emotionless, antisocial machines—living God-knows-where—who are expected to dedicate themselves seven days a week, without fail, solely to the game or project at hand. You seem to completely disregard the fact that they might have *real* jobs or be dealing with personal issues—like moving house, a family member passing away, or a staff member having an accident. I also see another comment on your profile urging people to stop donating money so the devs will—in your words—"finally get around" to updating the game. I assume that, from your perspective, developers are just lazy bums who leave their game without an update for three months, only for it to "magically" update once enough money has been donated. You probably think the update was actually ready during the very first week and they just sat on it for those three months because they were simply greedy for cash.
I’m not here to dogpile on you or anything but I just think It’s beautiful irony that the more the game updates the more entitled people here get because I KNOW they wouldn’t have been able to deal with the 2 year wait this game had in 2024 when the devs were actually inexperienced. The game is in its most healthy state right now and you can adopt a less ungrateful point-view on a passion project that can be stopped at any time. In fairness the devs really need to stop looking at the itch io comments to argue with randoms even if it’s in their spare time, It’s childish and one of the many negative feedback loops game devs first deal with. There’s no point pandering to these people when it’s a dead part of the page so you shouldn’t pay it any mind until you get shit done first
