I don't usually play this type of game but I really liked it.

The art was really nice, I especially liked the pixel art backgrounds, and the drifting mist effect was nice. The black and white sketches were also really cool, so well done all around I guess!

The gameplay was good though I thought that the ratio of choices to story was a little story heavy.
I absolutely loved the back button, I've never seen something like this in a multiple endings game, but totally fit and it was cool to be able to see the other endings without going through the initial story multiple times.

The sound was good. I felt that the music was maybe a little upbeat for a game like this and that it could have leaned a little more horror, but it still fit well.

My favorite thing was just how it came together into such an immersive experience, everything fit and had me engaged. I got ending 1 first and really felt something at having made the wrong choice so well done on that.

Overall great game and well done!

Thank you so much for the time and for the extensive review! Means a lot!

Happy you liked the art direction!

And yeah, the engine has some really quality of life features for the genre, like saves, skips and roll backs... and happy you took advantage of those! The title "Wavering" came somewhat from this idea of going back and forth and not exactly commit to a path.. 😝

I have tested some more 'horror' music, but Moe thought it was better to keep things more 'mystery' than just pure 'horror', and I think the end result was a nice compromise.. 😊

And happy the gameplay resonated with you! it was a week of hard work, hehe 💪✨
