You can't make it to "New and Popular" anymore
New & Popular is the same as Popular with only a bit more emphasis on New. Just look at the number of games. It is the same number.
Popular has also a historical and a current component.
Aiming for target audience tags is a good strategy in my opinion. Also, with only a few hundred games in a tag combination a game would even be still visible in recent even if it were the oldes game of them. 200 games is only 6 pages. That can be scrolled in a few seconds.
