It’s pretty clearly stated in the rules: “No AI content.” If you have AI write (almost) all of your code for you, then that is definitely AI-generated content. If you use AI for a little bit of assistance, nobody will probably say anything, and most likely nobody would even notice. But if the entire code is basically just copy and paste, then it’s AI-generated.

Especially because it’s unfair to the people who are actually following the rules and not using AI.

Why don’t you look for a team? Someone who can take care of the things you’re not able to do?

I can't code too much on my own :(
Can i become creative vision or suggest some real people here about game mechanics?
My brain is exploding with ideas but i can't do it with my own hands.
I just have creative thoughts for game mechanics that i can't make on my own.

But thanks for response i guess they will need to delete a lot of the crap from submissions.

But you also see the difference between
[hey chat gpt make me a easy game with cool graphic for the contest gl]
or
[Create code for game concept with (mechanic created in my mind 1, 2,3), engine godot, map will be procedurally generated and player forgots about rooms he just exited. etc. etc.]  - thats what i do from yesterday [no gaming no youtube just straight terminal and game.exe] since i noticed huge llm for free. i create 1 game concept  with good build way. but its literally AI coded with my knowledge in godot. then i've found idea about game coding contest.
Technically if game isnt slop i should be able to prepare a product right?

Like please be strict but also understand me. Im not here to make slop. Im here to represent creative vision without too much knowledge. Im IT guy but not into programming way.

I went from knowing nothing to creating a game for a jam in c++ sfml
built without an engine in three weeks. 1500 lines

i can promise you that you can learn to program in no time at all. and with an engine helping you, code can be incredibly simple.
watch a few tutorials and learn the best you can.

Okay thanks. Maybe next competition i will start.
I have a job and im finalising renovating my flat so i cant learn coding and post it in the contest in 5 days.
But at least i can check out posibilities of godot by co-working with ox-alpha rn.

Thanks for your comments guys.
I will try my best last one time in the next comp.
But i love the current theme now.

Btw what happens with currenttly submitted games which definitely used any sort of ai?

Or you just look for a teamate who writes most of the code. I am sure If you are good in arts, Sound, animation or something different there will be someone who wants you. Good to gather experience, thats what Game jams are about... I think

(+3)

I see no urgency in being a part of this jam.

If you are unable to create the game with your current ability, then either look for a jam that uses AI or just take the time to improve the skills and join one later.

or collaborate with people who can code

Code is not “content”. Marketing material product descriptions and art could be considered “content”. also enforcing this is a waste of time anyway since you can just reimplement what the AI generates on your own and then say you did it. Imagine this case: Telling ChatGPT to make a “tutorial” of your game idea and implementing that/following that tutorial. In what way is that different from whatever YouTube tutorial or blog post or sandbox game we all used to learn how to make games?

This is sufficiently different than having AI generate art for you.

I like that take
