speechless! i came in curious about the seattle setting, and found my heart throbbing reading about tacoma, then hearing that familiar rain. given seattle's lengthy history with asian americans, i was fascinated to learn more about diana's mom especially. every dark corner and crevice of characters were peeled back for a chance to see their inner workings beautifully through the lens of isolation in the writing- though, no one who goes out to live in the washington wilderness expects a lot of light.
