Quite enjoyed Leslie (2025) and it was interesting to hear about the process. The relationship between actors and fanfic about them/their characters feels like a particularly rich vein. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

this fuckin rocked. the writing is really fantastic and evocative and it was really rewarding to just sit with every line a bit. also when she said the aquarium thing i was like "is that serious weakness?" and it was!! hell yeah.

really lovely and evocative audiovisual presentation - the cutout drawings, the images underneath, the music especially - the piano mixed with the different sounds giving it an eerie half-remembered quality. saved multiple lines that i really loved - "...tonguelolling Louisa, waggytail Louisa" and "You feel the illusion of her love flaking off and blowing away, like dead skin after a sunburn" were two i particularly liked.

thanks again for checkin it out!! yeah i read a bit about mkultra before writing this and one of the things that stood out was the integration between psychology as an academic discipline and the imperialist state. that and some personal frustrations i've had with psychotherapy made it into the final script.

Absolutely! I'm sometimes a little startled at how quickly and instinctively white people 'clock' me, so to speak. Other racialized ppl are often more hesitant to make a call one way or another.

The 'potted plant' thing is the exact thought that I have thought to myself several times after hanging out in (mostly white) trans spaces, even though I'm mixed and relatively white looking (ish). I feel still that there's a huge difference between how much I get interacted with vs white people and other white people. Anyways, lovely piece, and thank you for making it.
