The game progression should be quite close to the web version, but the layout and controls are different (being keyboard based).

I'd happily take suggestions on how to improve it. So please send them my way.

Some design decisions came about from trying to fit it into the 48k version, but could be changed on the Next version.

The gameplay is quite simplified, lacking all those heart-warming phrases. I played both the web version and the Next version. In the Next version, the fire goes out too quickly. Meanwhile, other processes are noticeably slower; I was constantly fast-forwarded gameplay in emulator. There are also no hints about what you need to craft this or that item. They're sorely lacking; you have to play by feel.

Although the Next has much more memory overall, it still has to switch out parts of it into the main memory, so that meant that some parts were clipped to fit. I'll look at the timings, and I'll see what I can do to add some of that hint text back in where possible.

Update - I added adarkroomnext-beta.nex which fixes the fire timing, adds back 10 instances of hint text, and makes it easier to see what items cost. I'm going to look into other issues, but those may take longer.
