Hiya! Just a bit of feedback for solo player weight gain; I feel like some events (namely the All-you-can-eat Buffet/Food Market/Bake Sale type events) are pretty frustrating to play into and honestly, I find myself skipping them whenever they’re on. It’s the dice roll aspect in particular that irks me. For example, a player character could be at 20% fullness yet they’d decide to tap out before the next meal because they failed the roll. The ‘Bake Sale’ is honestly the worst offender for this just because of how many rolls you need to make, I nearly never bother with it.
I understand that the success rate scales with persuasion and feeder perks, but for player weight gain persuasion isn’t a factor and the feeder perk that makes these rolls easier is unlocked wayyy into the run, and it’s already much harder to level up the feeder skill tree just from player weight gain.
I know that the players appetite is a factor, but even with a ravenous appetite I frequently find my character failing rolls, rarely do they ever get to/past 100%. Honestly, the inconsistency just isn’t fun to play into and it takes away player agency.
Would it be possible to scrap the dice roll just for player characters participating in these events and let them eat to the limits of their appetite? Perhaps link the player’s appetite to the player’s capacity to keep the stat from becoming redundant, ‘Hungry’ adds a +5 to the player’s capacity, ‘Ravenous’ adds a +15 etc. It would make it much more notable whenever the player has these status effects, as it wouldn’t just affect the aforementioned events but also the Eating Competition, Pub Quiz, OnlyFats Streams etc!
EDIT: I also noticed that random events never apply. I get the “Your next meal will be free!” random event but I’m always charged for the next meal. Also side note; it would be nice to see how many calories regular meals that you buy have!
Again, thank you so much for the amazing game!
