I've tested it on Zesarux, and it works fine on there.
But am waiting on my Next Issue 3 arriving to test it on real hardware. I'll try and see in the meantime what might be causing that.
Thanks for your reply. As far as I know, the MAME emulator is currently more accurate. You can test your development there instead of waiting for a computer. At least the error matches the error I saw on N-Go.
The game launched in the Zesarux emulator, but I couldn't get past the title screen. Perhaps there's something wrong with the emulator's control settings; they're quite complex for me.
