Do you have a game idea that you won't use?

Hi there, i wanna make a small indie game, maybe by myself, maybe with some people, idk yet. The thing is i don't have any ideas, and ive been stuck for days because of that.

I know that there's some gamers out there that have some ideas but can't make them, and there's also some gamedevs who won't have the time to make their idea come true. So, if you are ok with this, feel free to post your ideas below!!

Ofc i won't "steal" your idea, but maybe it will inspire me and push me in the right direction? (and pls don't take it personnally if i don't keep your idea specifically, its just a matter of taste :))

Speaking about taste, here's some info about my style and what i want in my video game:

- Game genres: i like roguelikes, story-driven rpgs, and rythm games, but im not picky

- Art: it will most probably be in pixel art

- Vibe/Setting: probably fantasy (retro fantasy, space fantasy, or dark fantasy), and a bit of a weird random vibe (like Everhood for instance)

Thanks for reading this, and if u have something for me i will be glad to hear it!!

I have many game ideas which I've recorded in my notes. Some is doable while the rest might not be doable by me.

Since you like roguelikes, I'll share a roguelike game idea:

The base game idea is ingredients collector. You know the base rules: rooms are randomized, however each room also has randomized ingredients to collect. Each ingredient gives 1 score when picked up.

There are also shopping lists with specific required ingredients. Fulfilling a list gives bonus score depending on number of items in the list. 3 item types might give 10 score while 7 give 100 score. Player could choose which lists to work on, maxed at three lists.

There are no enemies but there are traps and hazards to avoid.

It could be updated but that's the idea. Other readers are welcome to take the idea.

Have you tried following a tutorial on those genres? Generally what happens is that mid-tutorials you end up inspired on different features.
A game doesn't need to re-invent the wheel to be good, sometimes it's just a small change.

That said, an Idea I had a while ago was "Ants RTS". A game where you have to choose your ant colony and conquer the backyard vs other colonies. Warrior Ants, Archer Ants, Monk Ants, etc.
It is a complex idea though...

Lol le mix between Diablo 2 and Crypt of the Necrodancer with some roguelike mechanics
