Windows Defender just quarantined QUOD_uncompressed.exe so I scanned both files on virustotal and it showed "32/69 security vendors flagged this file as malicious" on uncompressed and 37/69 on QUOD compressed.

Yeah, got this issue as well, on Windows 10 Home 22H2/ESU for me. Only thing to do for now is temporarily disable real time protection before playing QUOD.

Last thing... play it offline to be safe.

Dude, the author has shown us his face and is super open. The chance of him being really into going to prison in a convoluted scheme is pretty small. With that said, of course you should never trust an executable, because who says Itch won't be hacked, Daivuk won't be hacked, etc.

I just had the folder of quod open and did something else on my other screen. Then, the executable vanished from the folder :(
Windows Defender is an idiot!

It's always the same problem with compression in executables: Malware does it, so it must always be bad! Unless the big corpos do it, of course.
