Hi, thanks for publishing this! I’m thinking about running it this Halloween and I have some questions:

  1. In the Living Room (p.6) it says “2 Decorative Armors guarding the fireplace… Lifting the Sword: the Armors attack when no longer in sight. Is the “sword” a reference to the Glass Sword above the fireplace? Attack when what is no longer in sight of who?

  2. The hand-drawn map and digital map of Floor 2 disagree on the location of the Staging Area. The text describes the Staging Area as being west of the Bathroom, visible through a window. If this is correct, then what is the space south of the Bathroom? Another Balcony?

  3. One of the features of the Staging Area is “Simple Wooden Shapes”. What exactly does this mean? Squares and Circles?

  4. The Jelly Cube in the Basement Corridor has the following trait: Digest. (all Engulfed creatures) 3d4. Upgrade the die (d4>d6>d8…) What causes the die to upgrade? The number of creatures engulfed?

Thanks for any clarification!

Hi!

  1. Correct, the two animated armors protect the glass sword above the fireplace. They act as a delayed trap:
After the sword is lifted up, they wait until they're no longer in sight to attack (e.g. if heroes explore other room features, or look at the severed wolves entering from the main door)
  2. The staging area has a "L" shape. On the northern side, there's a chasm that leads down to the basement (connected to the bathroom via a window). On the southern side, there's a hard-to-reach area containing simple wooden shapes and mannequins. It can be accessed by breaking the bathroom's southern wall, flying or other shenanigans.
  3. Cubes and spheres :P, think of a "low poly room" that hasn't finished rendering
  4. Using the attack. It gets bigger and stronger by digesting stuff

hope it helps, let me know if you have other questions and/or how it goes!
