Just to give context,

allegedly, Dudelde found a few years ago (2024?) that assets were being stripped and reverse engineered. Some streamers were also streaming not public content, so monthly game updates were halted. It's also just not good practice if sufficient backend work is to be done.

Patrons were told within the last 2 years that monthly updates would also stop as the game nears the finish line and the first completed game is supposed to release (originally late 2025, now it's mid-2026).

Developing a high quality project takes time and often goes beyond schedule, so it's understandable.

I do miss the monthly updates, seeing my favorite characters update and the allure of hot scenes made my month worthwhile. but it's seems to near the end.

Supposedly there's major spoilers after chapter 6, which is why most scenes haven't been shown (involving King Cronus and the Merchant, but it's kind of clear what will happen especially after Tharsix's plot).

I wouldn't buy monthly updates now, the latest update is just polishing up stock assets and sketches, like Volga getting captured by Lambert and in his underwear, so it's probably close

I’m not sure what you meant by monthly updates in the first two paragraphs, but we are not against people streaming patreon content. The guideline written in 2020 can be found here here.

All the updates are also available publicly after 90 days just like the reports, so there is no need to support if you don’t feel like it. We want you to support the game because you like it, want to see it succeed, and are in a position where you can afford to do so.

I'm certain that by "monthly updates" they mean the monthly progress reports that you said you'd stop posting. But people don't know why you stopped posting them, and seem to be trying to guess at the reason.

I thought it was clear as I wrote an announcement stating the reason already, but I suppose it was limited to Patreon only so some might not understand, as I thought it was only relevant to supporters. I should make it public now so it’ll be clearer.

I’m confused because the game being datamined and shared outside of supporters didn’t stop monthly reports. The announcement about no more monthly report was posted in March this year.

The leak, however, affected our decision to release a new build (but the builds have never been released monthly and we made clear of that even on the Patreon page.) We didn’t want to release anything with unfinished assets or having to worry about people datamining the game and leaking something that could spoil anything beyond Chapter 7, so we said that any new build, if there would be one, would be something that’s polished or at least contain only things that we won’t feel bad if it’s seen by non-supporters.

Having to clean up the builds, making sure that there’s nothing for dataminers to find, costs us extra time and labour when we’re already a small group with limited resources. And I’m sure that people would be happier with a finished game.
