There aren't any changes so far, but I do like your gossip idea! It could include flavour text about the job/company, plus gossip about coworkers such as their gains/losses, job performance and interests.
I think the job interactions have a lot of potential for some fun flavor text!
Like, if you help a coworker at a certain size, there's just a little: "NPC lifts her belly onto a nearby counter with a sigh of relief. You end up doing a lot more of her work than does."
