When I was porting my script over to renpy,, I knew I wanted to use NVL mode. I liked how Nadia Nova used it in snowcorpse necromancy,, it being my first time using renpy I had some trouble getting it to fit the screen and look good with the text. Eventually I just got it to a point I was happy with and left it,, it definitely sat on my mind though that it covered a decent portion of the photos I took. It's interesting to me (in a good way) that you thought it made it feel more like a book,,, most of my experience writing has been short stories,, which I suppose translated into this work more than I thought it did.
The camera I used for the background photos was a fujica st605n!!,, its a fairly old film camera,, and I used portra 400/800 film for the backgrounds,, the film grain is all real :>>,, taking the night photos was difficult because of this,, had to use a tripod and do long exposures because there isn't much light, is why the photo of the street is a little blurry, I think I bumped it while taking the photo,,,
When I was looking for music,, nothing quite matched the vibe I was going for as well as the Ghosts tracks did,,, them being creative-commons was kind of perfect,, so I ended up using a lot of their songs,,,, Right Where it Belongs was really beautiful,,, I think it would have been really fitting for a credits scene,,,
