um quick question what are the controls on a game boy its kinda embarrassing "telling im joining a game boy jam" but i haven't actually played a game boy game.

I believe the select and start buttons were mostly used for menu navigation and not gameplay as often, so A + B buttons and d-pad are the main controls.
Common keyboard setups are:
D-pad: arrow keys or WASD
A/B: X/C* or J/K
Select: SHIFT
Start: ENTER
*EDIT: I am told that X/C are a better choice than Z/X as they work well for both azerty and qwerty keyboard users.

You could've saved me the effort by doing a quick wikipedia search or checked the FAQ which was written to smooth this process. We have over 1000 people participating in the jam, and we could do with people using their initiative so as not to over consume resources. Thanks!
