I'm really glad that you enjoyed the game, albeit so short ) I really went all in on few rounds I managed to assemble in given time, good to know that it wasn't for nothing. During post launch tests, some of the players did figured no sponge trick as well ) It was "totally intentional" :) But in all honesty I did have ideas for such shortcuts and it's a good indication that they are working.
