A very enjoyable action roguelite with wave-based combat and automatic abilities. I especially liked the cartoonish visual style and the way the sprites squash, stretch, and deform during animations. It looks simple, but works extremely well and gives the game a lot of personality.
There is also a great variety of skill modifiers, which makes progression feel interesting. I actually had a similar idea when the jam theme was announced, so it was especially nice to see this kind of concept implemented.
There are a few issues: enemies sometimes get stuck behind obstacles, and the music can become a little too loud. My main problem appeared after I died around level five. I liked that unlocked skills remained, and I would have tried another full run, but the early levels still take the same fixed amount of time. Since the player is already much stronger, waiting through those slow waves again feels unnecessary. An option to speed up completed levels or spawn all enemies faster would make replaying much more enjoyable.
Also, the deer transforming into their second form genuinely surprised and slightly scared me. It was creepy and funny at the same time.
Overall, it’s a fun project with enjoyable gameplay, plenty of upgrades, and especially strong visuals.
