What's the size of your game? The current limit is 1GB.
I think it refers to a web game, where there is a limit of 1000 files.
RPG maker runs well using sprite sheets, so you could gather several images in sprite sheets to lower the file count and keep all the asset you need.
You'd better tell that to the OP, I'm just answering and I don't use RPG Maker.
Around 150MB, but the limitation for the Web player from itch isn't about file size, rather number of files inside the project.
