This was really clever! I like the strategy of needing to decide when to skip tasks so that you can hit them quicker after the direction change. It was fun (and stressful) having to pick a penalty since I feel like I sealed my own fate. Nicely done!
Nice job with that strategy! I'm glad you could feel the tension of deciding on a penalty as well. I was going for the feel of putting someone between a rock and a hard place, and you're trying to choose the lesser of two evils!
