I think the colors are a bit too bright, and the ability to earn coins over and over again by driving into the lake makes the other objects pointless.
The other things give you a lot more coins, they aren´t really pointless you earn money more efficiently if you do them. And about the colors: Life is sunshine and rainbows :)
