I understand the choice of the tutorial as an old VHS recording on a training room but the aberration on the letters is a disservice to the player, sometimes UX comes above aesthetics.
As an anomaly game I feel the hinting is very vague, this ain't easy to balance, but think about what will stand out to the player. In this case the questioning feels disconnected and I find myself more on the side of betting on opening the door instead of feeling the risk of my own agency.
