I’m not usually a big fan of platformers, but when a game is good, the genre doesn’t really matter—and I genuinely enjoyed this one. What worked especially well for me was the combination of movement and planning: the game makes you think, study the level, build a route, and then execute it quickly and accurately.
The interpretation of the jam theme is also one of the best I’ve seen. It may seem like an obvious idea at first, but it still needs to be implemented well, and here it absolutely was.
I especially liked the level design. Some stages encouraged exploration and planning, while others left almost no room for hesitation or mistakes. Level 5 was particularly difficult for me, and it was the only one where I couldn’t collect everything—I finished with 46 out of 49 wax.
There were a few minor bugs, such as occasionally getting stuck when the candle was exactly the same height as the space between the floor and ceiling, but these issues were small compared to how much I enjoyed the game.
The visuals are lovely, the music is pleasant, and the overall gameplay experience was excellent. One of my favorite projects so far—great work!
