This was a really fun interpretation of the theme. Love the narrative tension of an event looming that ticks ever closer.

Also really nice work on the artwork and the sound! I especially love the echo-y tick sound that punctuates every now and then!

However, I found narrative of the game a little hard to enjoy. It's a concept that asks you to step into these shoes and understand their perspective, but I think that was a little impossible for me to do because of just how far removed from reasonable thought the idea of killing your best friend because you're mad they get attention is. The choices didn't really land because how could anyone genuinely consider that?

There's also something that feels a little... off about the concept of the "redemption" ending. The idea that Jeremiah immediately is cool about it, and that suddenly the bad thoughts just go away at the dance. Rather than being like "okay great you made the right choice, now go get some serious professional help, and this relationship will need serious work to repair".  It feels a little "the love of the right woman fixed me" which is a trope I find troubling.

Perhaps I'm just taking it too seriously, but I think it's actually a great sign that I was able to have these critiques! It was a quality enough and polished enough piece of work that I was able to review it as a piece of narrative art rather than only being able to focus bugs and game design. Really nice work!

Hii! Thanks so much for commenting, my friend! Haha, you might consider it unnatural, but let me explain why: Jeremiah and Lucio are polar opposites—I drew a lot of inspiration from Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. Jeremiah is a pure soul representing peace, hope, and integrity; he's essentially a magnanimous being. I wanted him to forgive Lucio to show that hope can always be found, even when things look dark and distant.

Lucio is also heavily based on Raskolnikov from Crime and Punishment, who, with enough love, was able to break free from his lowest mental point and build a good life.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to comment!
