I sugested earlier that small, light characters should be able to sleep in larger beds.
The reaction was that this will be possible but characters will have bad nights when sleeping in a bed not made for their size.
Since problems, like the one you reported, will be history when larger beds are available for everyone, maybe we can get this behaviour earlier - and the "bad nights" feature later in next update.
