Turns out I might have been mistaken: one of the item spots doesn't render unless you're standing on the chair there (and it doesn't really show the place as a chair spot)
There are hints on the walls and floor in the game; use them for guidance. There are also 8 spawn points.
One of those floor hints doesn't render that well during my sessions.
I went in and checked; all the tooltips are displaying correctly :)
