Nice gameplay loop. This reminds me of a game I played a lot on my Android phone about fifteen years ago or so. In later years, there was Steamworld Dig. If you updated this game with better graphics, you'd have a classic :)
Thank you! A sprite based version would indeed be very cool. This game was created in a gamejam fashion, with a tight deadline. I guess a Minecave2 would be cool to work on.
