It's clear to see your influences on the game from the F&H style intro and the Bloodborne sword/firearm loadouts.

Although I do like the visual style, I felt that a few more colors would have benefitted since sometimes it was a little hard to discern details with just the black and white.

The game's difficulty is a Souls style level of punishing, requiring the player to pretty much loss grind enemies in order to discern their patterns; what works against them and what doesn't.

This is done to the extreme here I feel, however. Even the first enemy in DS1 lets you kill it without fear of reprise. The first enemy here knocked my teeth in when my bullet missed and my fire spell did zip and it took 2/3rds of my health from a single attack.

Don't get me wrong, I am a Souls fan and prefer my games on the punishing side. So if I had more time I would develop my skills and knowledge to beat this difficult game and be truly satisfied that I did complete something that didn't hold my hand from the start.

I apologize if my feedback sounds hyper critical but I assure this has the potential to be a really good game with a little fine tuning and balance.

The enemy art is stunning and I like how the filter is applied to the battle arena - I didn't know that was possible in VX Ace so I was blown away by that.

For what you made here in 6 days you should be well proud of yourself - this is a fantastic effort and shaping up to be a really great turn based soulslike.

I will drop you a follow here on itch - I'd love to see how you develop the game post-jam. Awesome job :)

Thank you for playing my game, and thanks for your constructive feedback, I really appreciate it! :D

You nailed almost all of the references I used O.O There are actually a few more games that inspired me, such as EarthBound, LISA, DOOM, and Resident Evil, among others.

At first, I considered adding an Easy Mode, but I felt it would ruin the intended experience. Instead, I wanted to focus on balancing the game and making every monster memorable, even though there are only four of them x)

Technically, you can finish the game in about 10–15 minutes... if you know the monsters' patterns and use your skills, attacks, and items at the right moments which isn't easy. Sorry, that's part of the experience! xD

Anyway, I hope you didn't rage quit :3 Thanks again for playing my game! ❤️
