Such an incredible game! I really like the print-and-play format, and I enjoyed the idea that every NPC's movement is determined by dice rolls while the player gets to choose their own movement. It creates an interesting contrast between planning and unpredictability.

I also think it's a really clever interpretation of the themes of Masks and Rhythm. Following the rules of the masquerade dance while trying to reach the Informant feels very elegant. The only thing I found myself wondering about is the dance itself: since it's a masquerade ball, I naturally imagined everyone dancing with a partner, yet dance partners are never mentioned. It's not really an issue, just something I expected from the setting.

I was also hoping for a slightly stronger connection to the musical aspect of rhythm. The dance is central to the game, but I found myself wishing that music itself had a bigger mechanical or narrative role. That's just a personal preference, though.

As I was reading, it gave me more of a board game or puzzle-game feeling than a traditional TTRPG. There aren't many opportunities to develop the different characters through roleplay, but I do like that the main character remains fully in control of their own choices and movements. I think it's a really original concept.

In any case, I'd love to see an actual play or a recorded session to get a better feel for how it plays. I'll also be giving it a try as soon as I have access to a printer. 😊

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that once I got the idea for the theme and mechanics, I forgot about other possible aspects.  Partners, for example, didn't even occur to me!  I did bring a metronome into my office while I was fiddling with the game to try to work that in, but I ultimately scrapped it, assuming most people probably don't own a metronome haha
