Hello, yeah as an idle game, it makes sense. So I think leaving it unpaused is okay but later when the no of cats and customers start to become a bit more (like yeah 8 cats were a bit higher for me to handle but it could get even more difficult in later levels or when it gets even chaotic), you can add some kind of upgrade to automate some of the things, like keeping a helper person who goes to the checkout counter and accepts customers orders slowly, there can be another helper we can hire or purchase who can pet the cats periodically to help with that. And yes, doing this instead of pausing the game within adoption menu is way better in my opinion!
