I played the entire game and reached the Maybe next month ending.

You’ve got a very unique game and concept. The point and click adventure style works really well for the type of complex story you are going for.

Positives

 • The art is fantastic. I mean I know you already hear this a lot, but, it’s true. The backgrounds characters, everything is great. I especially liked the abstracted art style of the isles.
 • Sound design and music is great too.
 • I like the mini game of travelling in the alt dimension thing. (What shaders are you using?) The insecurity and depression zones were very unique, and not something I expected.
 • The tuning mini game was also very cool

My gameplay and choices

I generally picked the options that were good and established friendship. I basically threw a tantrum when Bernard mysteriously disappeared and never really got along with Warden. I never followed the instructions of not interacting with islanders. I interacted every chance I got and also riled them against the institution I was working for, lol. I was chill at the start and became rebellious by the end.

Points for improvement

I don’t have a lot to add here because your game is quite brilliant. Length was short, not enough content. Would like to see a longer game. (In this case that is also a positive? haha) More backgrounds inside the office space would be fun. Yeah, can’t really think of enough negatives that do not include “add more content in xyz”.

Overall, this was a great experience. You have gained a follower and I will be looking forward to the progress of your game! Hoping you have a great game dev journey in the future too.

Wow, thank you very much for your kind and detailed comment!

I am very glad you liked the art, as you can imagine a lot of efforts has been put in it (not by me haha)! About music and sound design, even if we are not crafting it ourselves, carefully choosing and mixing took quite some effort too! Regarding the mini-games, their design was a collective work and polished over time by gathering playtests and comments–so thank you again for your input!

For the shaders, thank you for asking because it makes me think that they should be added to the credits, if not already. Indeed, we use a bunch of them and we have no shader artist in our team (maybe a very newbie shader tweaker). To be more precise:

Maybe I forgot some… I’ll have to inspect the game code in details.
For your run, I guess you were not so rebellious after all… If you want to check for other endings maybe you can consider returning to a previous islet…?
Anyway, thank you for playing and I am really glad you enjoyed it so much!

The shaders list is extremely helpful, thank you! I am myself a shader noob and always looking for cool ones. (Did not know that the oscilloscope was a shader as well, but now that I see it, makes so much sense)

I will go all in rebellion mode and try to get fired this time coz fxxk capitalism lol. (I think I did not follow the white arrow coz I ran out of time. This time I will)

godotshaders.com is an awesome resource for sure! Glad I could help you with my list! And yes, it was way simpler to modify the shader parameters on the fly rather than to code an actual oscilloscope with godot nodes and scripts!
For the “all in rebellion” you need to befriend Bernard like you did, and also come back to previous islands (for instance going to the first islet in mission 2)! Glad you enjoyed the game so much that you wanted to play another run!

All in rebellion!

I noticed that the original game was an entry for a jam called “Fxck Capitalism”. I had no idea, but it fits so well! The story has some really strong themes.

Thank you for your amazing review, and even the little comment on the previous game version! It really warmed our hearts :3

Just popping to ask you: isn't your picture Dr Frost? If so, you really do have good tastes ;))

Thank you! Your game is quite amazing and deserves the love.

Yes! It is doctor Frost! I have been supporting them since it was a very new manhwa. So glad it caught more attention! Are you also a fellow Doctor Frost reader?

Thank you! Congrats for the results of your game, by the way! We took advantage of being three team members to test/rate different games, so only Vost played yours, but I will try it out soon too :3

Yes, I love this series. I admire the fact that it adresses really deep topics in a very serious way, with the help of some professionals too, while staying entertaining for the readers. The characters are all very interesting and well-developed too, and they have a great development all along the series. I stopped reading after the psychiatric hospital arc after he reunited with Seonga Yoon because I was up-to-date with the English release on Webtoon. I am a binge-reader at heart so I usually prefer to stop a series for a while then come back to it much later to finish it all. That's very cool that you love it too and follow the author since their debut!

I am assuming you did the art for Mindfarer? It is quite amazing. I am very new to digital art and looking at your art was definitely inspiring.

Thank you! Congratulations to you too! Mindfarer scored very high on all metrics! Whenever you test it, do let me know your honest thoughts on it!

I also have the habit of stopping a series so I can binge. It has been quite a while since I read Dr. Frost. It is time for a reread.
