I really appreciate all the small details you've incorporated into you game, it makes it feel much more human!! The censored penguin's texts at the beginning, the item descriptions, even the controls are personalized!

Unfortunately, I didn't exactly understand the story. By that, I mean I don't understand the cutscene at the start of the game. Is it just the lore behind the penguin we play as? If so, why are there creatures coming from a portal? Is it to steal from the penguin since he won lots of money? Please do tell me, I'm really curious!

Little suggestions:

- add a background to the screen where we play as the penguin

- more enemies or levels

- make the enemies capable of changing sides (not just on the floor, but also on the walls and ceiling) so that they can follow the player

- put the portal in the center. That way, the player has to use more of the mechanics of the game (you'd have to flip over and over again, rather than stand still)

- for next jams: considering how much time we had, maybe you should have focused more on the gameplay (more enemies, progression, etc.) and instead of animating a whole cutscene, you can have a slideshow (it'd also be easier to tell the story)

Then again, those are just suggestions. No need to implement them if you feel like it isn't necessary. After all, it's your game. I wouldn't want to take away the "Anarkion" feel of this game! :D

Also, I realized that if you just pick up one item and go destroy the portal, it doesn't spawn in any enemies and you can still beat the game. :P

Hehe, thanks for the suggestions, @obilly, I really appreciate when people dig into details and try to understand the plot!

That might sound as an excuse, but for me the time limitation, my lack of skills and knowledge made me cut a lot of the initial idea I had for this one... Which why there is no explanation on "was the casino plays successful or not", "why Pambo had to fight", "what/who/why is the enemy" and many others. And I'm sorry for that, but at least I managed to show some mechanics I imagined, brought somewhat complete game(with a start and end and something in between XD)!

So the initial idea was that Pambo is like a combat-experienced penguin, like a Rambo, but since he is a penguin - Pambo. He is retired and living his life. Once he decided to gamble a bit, and lost all of his money, so he had to get back on the fighting path. And the Orca supposed to help him on the start, appear a couple of times along the game and finally become his enemy, who watched Pambo and learn his patterns to counter them in the final fight(simple approach, just aggregate the amount of jumps, gravity spins and world spins, count them along with the preferred weapon use(yes, there was some more weapons, but again, lack of time and skills...) and based on that use some different final boss combat patterns). This is why Echo Nemesis - he echoes the Pambo's moves and counters them.

But well, since I'm new, even the arts took me a while to make, that's why I had to cut a lot of the story off and just post what I had...

Anyway, thanks for playing the game, for such a detailed review and suggestions, really appreciate that!

Cheers!
