i really enjoyed the way you explored some of the mechanics in this short demo, the elements have a lot of potential to make lots of interesting and fun levels, and i enjoyed the movement. it is simple but works very well. the mechanics feel smooth, and the animations that are here such as the launchpad cogs turning and the smooth movement of the launchpad look very good.
this game has the potential to be great if polished, but in its current state is a bit iffy in places (as expected for a game jam, but worth mentioning for the future). main menu is blank and music does not play through scenes (for example the level select, main menu and settings all restart the song each time). there is also a typo in the first level
i think in general the sound design is rough, often spamming sounds with not enough variety (i think this could be solved by blocking out hitboxes so they are solid throughout several platforms, as when there are several platforms in a row it tends to play the loud hit sound for each platform). the sounds are also somewhat similar to the instruments of the music which makes it difficult to discern the music and the game audio to my ears
i love the backgrounds, and if you had more time i think it would have been cool to see the level geometry individually stylised to the style of the background of the level, as well as a more cohesive visual style (the player, obstacles and background all have different artstyles, for example)
anyway, given its a week long game jam and you are the sole developer i think thats all expected and given time would be fixed. its a cool concept and definitely one of the more interesting ones ive seen, so great work
first level took me 18 seconds, second took 31 seconds and the third took 35 seconds :)
