Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the very kind words! I really loved doing the art - the slightly surreal photobashing for contestants and the silly enemies we brainstormed was a lot of fun (the final boss is probably my favourite!), and getting to mess around with strange UIs and making a custom slime border for the item popup was equally great. The amount of assets needed also meant getting creative with the pipeline; besides photobashing, we initially considered pixel art for the items, but settled on physically sketching something on paper, then photographing and uploading that into aseprite and making textured layers behind the outlines with really zoomed in stock images.
