Phew, I'm glad you were able to play it in the end! And yes for computer, you need to unzip and launch the .exe to play it.
Ohoho there are two endings where it could be considered a success, congrats for making it through on the second try XD
On Linux, getting the Ren’Py Launcher to run then opening a game from there works fine. XD Only took me a few months to figure out how.
