Do those session files just don't have GM instruments set? I would try those. The issue I'm having is not that I want GM compliant MIDI but just any MIDI i.e. non-binary music. Because binary files are of little use when working with retro systems and I would have to remap each instrument anyway even from GM files.

If I export the session right off the bat without any preparation, I'll end up with one single channel, with all of the instruments blended in (all instruments being mixed together in one single channel). So you would have to sort them out by ear (and perhaps fill some gaps left by different instruments that played the same note). But if you have both the musical skills (to re-arrange and sort things out) and technical skills (to remap according to your own retro gear), that's totally doable. Would you need the midi for all the tracks in the music pack?
Oh, thanks. It sounds like some files might be easier than the others. Is it troublesome for you to export them? I think I'd rather just buy the pack and contact you on the email you posted below and you can send me the MIDIs when you have time, no hurry. So I would have many files to work with. How does that sound?
